Dr Amorette Perkins

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Amorette Perkins is a Clinical Psychologist who provides support to individuals across the lifespan to improve mental health and wellbeing. Amorette is passionate about working collaboratively to help individuals understand their difficulties and to live meaningful, fulfilling lives.  
 
She is integrative in her practice and can use a wide range of interventions to suit the individual. This may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Therapy for PTSD, as well as approaches drawing on developmental, behavioural and systemic models. 
 
Amorette has experience assessing and working with people who experience anxiety, panic, stress, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, anger, attachment/relational difficulties, challenging behaviour, trauma and PTSD. 
 
Amorette also currently works for the NHS as a clinical lead in a specialist setting, supporting children who have experienced developmental trauma and/or who have complex mental health difficulties. She is used to working creatively and adopting a playful approach to help clients feel comfortable and engage in therapy. Amorette has training in Dyadic Developmental Practice, Psychotherapy and Parenting (DDP), Children’s Accelerated Trauma Technique (CATT), as well as in adapting ACT for young people. 
 
Amorette completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of East Anglia. She has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cambridge. Amorette likes to keep an active role in current psychological research to inform her practice
