Natalie Harrison
Play Therapist
Natalie holds a degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Studies, as well as a Master’s in Play Therapy from Roehampton University, London. She is also a qualified Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) Facilitator. Her professional background includes working in early years settings and contributing to a creative collective that used animation, media, and art to support children with autism.
Over the past five years, Natalie has specialised in supporting families affected by substance misuse and addiction. Her work is underpinned by a strong belief in acceptance, particularly in relation to neurodiversity. She aims to help children and their caregivers embrace parts of themselves that may have previously been met with judgment or misunderstanding.
Natalie’s therapeutic philosophy is grounded in the idea that play therapy is not about changing the child, but about fostering resilience, strengthening self-esteem, and supporting the child to make confident, internally motivated decisions. She has a particular interest in attachment-based interventions, promoting secure and accepting relationships between children and their caregivers.
Her approach is holistic and integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic models to meet the unique needs of each child and family she works with.
About Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a child-centred therapeutic approach that uses play (children’s natural medium of communication) to explore emotions, resolve difficulties, and support psychological growth. Natalie works to build a safe, trusting relationship with each child. Through sensory play, storytelling, imaginative play, art, and movement, children are able to express their inner world and begin to process their experiences in a developmentally appropriate and emotionally supportive way.
